The NA2US podcast has been in limbo for quite some time. I think the excitement and dedication fizzled within the process. I think it’s how we handled everything in an hour timeframe. It’s like we smacked everything together into something that was hard for listeners to adjust to. People don’t have the time to listen to an hour’s worth of jumbled news.

So let’s simplify things.

The News According to Us is the name of the brand which holds a marquee show and a network of other podcasts concerning different niches. Think a DIY parody radio version of Revision 3.

As for the marquee show with me and Pat, which still remains untitled, I’d like to split sports and gaming in to two different shows. That way, there’s a bigger emphasis on the topic and lesser confusion which was the past 5 episodes we’ve recorded. We’ll keep them up, just to serve as a reminder that we started this off with high hopes and if we really want the success we’ll need to work at it.

For the gaming and tech podcast I would like to implement a more hip-hop surrealist soundtrack a la Adult Swim (peep the Ta-Ku track above). I don’t know how far we can go with gaming since the field has been inhabited by the hipsters of Rev 3, a powerhouse of IGN, and how cynical and sarcastic everyone in the field seems to be. Perhaps we can just do a massive shit talk about everyone. The sports podcast should be all about fun and banter. And although it’s ultimately up to Andrew, we could have a third show under the NA2US network aimed toward the MMA fighting circuit.

So, shorter times for podcasts. Weekly updates. We’re seeking better avenues and players that is easily accessible and easy to share.

A lot of people who have shown interest in the podcast have been really supportive and they’re the harshest and realest people we know. And I think they respect that we’re taking this thing in our own hands. Away from the Annenberg Com school of privileged dick sucks and the ambitious cutthroats. Whatever the case, we’re doing it. And we’re doing it punk rock.

Can we live?
